Le 19 octobre 2001, le Sadogatake oyakata d'alors (佐渡ケ嶽親方, ancien yokozuna Kotozakura/琴桜) présentait sa nouvelle recrue issue du prestigieux lycée Meitoku Gijiku. Un certain KIKUTSUGI Kazuhiro/菊次一弘), lycéen de 17 ans.
